A new European Research Area network is under development to address the need for integrated action within Europe across a number of energy intensive sectors.
Industry for Energy Efficiency (IndEff) will bring together national and transnational organisations from across the EU with a common interest in improving industrial energy efficiency (IEE). IndEff will support IEE research, development and innovation, and increase the rate of adoption of innovative technologies and practices to deliver higher levels of IEE.
A single transnational call for proposals will be implemented as part of IndEff’s work.
It is expected that further information will be made available shortly. The UK will coordinate IndEff via the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), with participation from Austria, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
It is expected that the joint call will focus around a limited number of industrial sectors (those with very energy intensive industrial processes, or large energy consumption due to their market presence). Proposals should be submitted by consortia with representation from the countries listed above.
Further details will be made available in due course via the website.
