The Technology Strategy Board, in collaboration with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, invites applications for its enhancing manufacturing through automation competition. This is for collaborative R&D to develop, enhance or improve automation systems and equipment, including the use of robotics, to drive significant improvements in complex manufacturing processes.
Applications are accepted from all sectors of industry. Projects must be collaborative and business-led and include a potential end user. Projects are expected to mostly include industrial research. Projects should last from one to three years and have total project costs in the range of £500,000 to £2m.
A briefing day for potential applicants will be held in London on 24 January 2013
Registration open between 21 January and 27 February; expressions of interest accepted until 6 March; full applications accepted between 25 March and 15 May 2013.
